Durango Area Youth Hockey Association
This season Durango Area Youth Hockey Association (DAYHA) will be starting a new tradition. We will be holding a charity hockey game on October 25, 2014 at 5:30 pm with the help of Chapman Hill Ice Rink and the Fort Lewis College Club Hockey Team. It will be our first “Pink the Rink” event and will benefit the Health Coalition of Southwest Colorado, formerly the Women’s Health Coalition. The Health Coalition of Southwest Colorado is a volunteer organization that has been helping women with cancer for nearly 20 years. They provide grants for non-medical expenses, as well as gas cards for individuals undergoing cancer treatment, offer cancer prevention and early detection education to the community; and collaborate with other resources to offer assistance to those impacted by cancer.
DAYHA is excited to help this cause as well as teach our players the importance of helping our community. The game of hockey teaches many life lessons and team work and community service are two very importance ones.
We are selling 300 tickets to this event for $10 per ticket. Tickets will only be available on our website – www.durangohockey.com. Please go to this website and click on the “Pink the Rink” link. There you will be able to purchase tickets or make a donation to help us support this great cause. We are hoping to sell the rink out for the game. During the game we will also have other fund raising opportunities to help the Health Coalition of Southwest Colorado.
Please help us by buying a ticket, making a donation, and spreading the word about this great night of hockey and fundraising for two worthwhile, local organizations!
